Welcome to our Restaurant

مطعم ياهلا – Yahala Mataam is Arabic for Welcome Restaurant.

The idea for Yahala Restaurant came after sampling the food cooked by Syrians living in York. An Arabic feast full of flavour, recipes handed down many generations; cooked for the first time in the City.

Yahala Restaurant is a Pop-up restaurant, opening up for one night a month. It started as a partnership project between the Refugee Council, York City Church and a group of gifted chefs from Syria.

Afghan Pop-up Restaurant Back soon!

During refugee week this year we brought you an Afghan Buffet with flavours from the heart of Kabul. We had a wonderful evening of tasty food and raised nearly £900 to support refugees who are still in the country. We’re looking forward to running another Afghan buffet soon.
